About The Boys’ Brigade

Founded in 1883, The Boys’ Brigade (BB) is the world's first uniformed youth organization. For over 140 years, our motto, "Sure and Stedfast," has guided our mission to nurture young people into responsible, capable, and compassionate citizens through a program of fun, learning, adventure, and Christian values.

We provide a safe, structured, and dynamic environment where children and young people can discover their potential, learn essential life skills, build lasting friendships, and develop a strong sense of community spirit. Our activities are designed to promote physical, educational, social, and spiritual growth.

Our Mission & Method

Our core objective is encapsulated in our founder Sir William Alexander Smith's vision:
"The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect, and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness."

We achieve this through a balanced program that includes:

• Skills & Crafts: Developing practical abilities and creativity.

• Sports & Games: Promoting teamwork, fitness, and healthy competition.

• Adventure & Camping: Building resilience, independence, and a love for the outdoors through hikes, camps, and expeditions.

• Leadership Training: Equipping older members with skills to lead and mentor others.

• Community Service: Instilling a heart for service through projects that benefit our local Kawo community and beyond.

• Faith & Values: Exploring Christian principles in an inclusive and engaging way, fostering moral integrity and respect for others.
